When Lloyd's of London chose Business Objects to manage their strategic reporting environment, they knew that effective control environment was a “must-have”, not a “nice-to-have'' if they were to maximise ROI. Lloyd’s recognised they needed better control over their sources, universes and reports in order to create a stable and flexible Business Objects environment.
Lloyd’s implemented EQM and now have completely separate environments for Development, Test, Acceptance and Production (DTAP). EQM analyses the impact of universe changes, highlights specific testing that needs to be completed to ensure quality and creates a complete audit trail of changes made and approved.
The reduced cost of ownership of both development and support of the Business Objects environments has also managed to provide a faster return on investment on their Business Objects investment.
